Joseph Mallord William Turner was born in London, England, on April 23, 1775. His mother died when he was young. His father was a barber.He did not get a lot of schooling,he was taught to read by his dad.
When he was 13 he would draw at home and show them at his faters shop.He also soled them.
J. M. W. Turner 15 when he got his first rare honor. One of his paintings were shown at the Royal Academy. By time he was 18 he had his own studio, before he was 20 people were already buying his drawings for reproduction.
He quickly achieved a fine reputation and was elected an associate of the Royal Academy. In 1802, Turner was 27 and became a full member, and he started to travel widely around Europe.
His entire life was devoted to his art.
